Ideas for Decorate for Christmas

Christmas is my favourite holiday, and for me the days leading up to Christmas day are almost just as fun as the day itself. This year we choose to go with the colours, white, gold, silver and rose gold.

Christmas Table

For the Christmas table, I tried to keep it simple. In the centre of the table, I used ivy vines that run along the middle of the table. I placed one of the Christmas vases on the middle of the table. I used pure white serving plates with long stem wine glasses. As it got dark, we turned the seed lights on in the vases which gave a nice glow in the middle of the table.

The Tree

The Christmas tree is always the heart of Christmas, and I feel that it sets the tone for everything that follows. We brought a new pine coloured with white frosted tips, the tree was 6ft tall and we decorated with decorations that stuck with the colour scheme, white, gold, silver and rose gold. We had a gold star on top.

Ideally, I would have preferred a bigger tree, however the space we were using was not going to accommodate a bigger tree, taller or wider. So, we went with the 6ft tree. It worked well for the space. This is a good reminder to consider the space before getting a tree.

Christmas Vases

With some of the left-over decorations from the tree, I used them to create Christmas vases for extra decorations around the house. I placed in seed lights and then filled with Christmas tree decorations. One went on the coffee table next to the Christmas tree, one went in the office and one on the bedside table. At night you can turn the seed lights on, the light shines on the reflective and glittery decorations, which makes a nice effect. The ones in the office and bedroom also took the place of a lamp, with felt very festive.

Gift Wrapping

For the presents, I used similar colours to the Christmas tree resulting in the presents being a mix of gold, silver, green, white, and brown. With ribbon colours of white, gold, rose gold, and silver. Each present also had a Christmas tag with the recipient’s name of the back of the tag.

The great thing about the festive season is that everyone has a different style, and I love seeing what everyone comes up with. Let me know what your Christmas style is!
